Batton Hollow Update
We are into our third year and things are going well. I guess we can't call ourselves a "new winery" anymore. Our production was up considerably during our second year when we made nearly 2500 gallons of wine. We've also added new wines to our selection. Many of you are familiar with our seasonal wines. We release a seasonal wine four times per year and they have been well received. Our spring wine is called Primavera, which is the Italian word for spring. Our summer seasonal and our most popular wine is called Summer Breeze. We are getting ready to release Autumn Glory which is our fall wine (it is a sweet spiced wine); it should be available by mid September. Finally our winter seasonal is called Winter White which we strive to release on Dec 1st each year.
The look of the winery has also changed. This spring we added a beautiful covering over the outside patio. Folks seem to love sitting out there, rain or shine, and just relaxing with a nice view of the vineyard.
Our biggest news right now is that we have added beer sales in the tasting room. People often tell us that they can't get their spouse to come to the winery with them because they don't drink wine. Problem solved! We will offer two or three types of beer at all times and may offer draft beer at some point in the future.
Now, we are heading into harvest season which is when we make the bulk of our wines for next year. It is always a busy time.
We often host events at the winery. Last week we had a fundraiser for the Clarksburg Child Advocacy Center and it was a great evening. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for information about upcoming events.
See you at the winery!
